Prayer
Perhaps your heart wants to leave me
Because I might be in pain, is that the reason why?
We may be a day further apart, but it's okay,
Where ever you are, I believe it's love.

At that time I had no clue, about the light in your eyes as you gazed at me
I began to despise my self for not being able to hold your small shoulders in my arms.

Even though our star-crossed fate will always split us apart
I will never make your heart cry again.
Nothing in the world can replace my dearest you
Don't you know that now, there is nothing more precious to me than you?

That smile you gave when you looked at me
Was such a blissfull happiness.
Lean against me closer, it's okay,
Like this moment where you are a breath away.

For evermore, I am here, just a hand reach away
Your love has brought me here, right by your side.

Even though our star-crossed fate will always split us apart
I will never make your heart cry again.
Nothing in the world can replace my dearest you
Don't you know that now, there is nothing more precious to me than you?

Sakura, don't you know that there is nothing more precious to me than you?

Well, isnt' this a touching song? (The music is really good too.) I translated from a Korean song called "Prayer." It came out in a drama series called "An Autumn Fairytale." The story is really sad. It's about a girl who is split apart from her love when she was young, and her first love also happened to be her step brother. She says to him in their childhood, "You know what I want to be when I die? I want to be a tree. Why? Because then, I would never have to part from the person I love." (Kawaii.)  Well, she gets a job as a maid at a hotel, and the good looking, confident son of the hotel manager happens to fall in love with her. At first, he seems really arrogant, selfish, and rough, but inside, he is sooooooo nice. Once they get to know each other better, he shows really romantic and sweet sides and even proposes to her. Yet, the girl's first love happens to be his friend, and they finally meet each other after being parted for so long and of course, the girl loves her first love. Then, they find out that she has leukemia... and that explains the "star-crossed, tragic fate." Anyway, it's such a sad story... the beautiful girl dies in the end and so does her first love (he promised to live on, but he dies in a car accident.) The second love scatters her ashes in the ocean. (poor him... I liked him sooooo much... in the way I like Syaoran-kun. Syao-chan: Hey! You like someone else besides me?  Anyway, I thought that the lyric of this song matched with CCS, in some ways. By the way, this is from Syaoran's POV. "An Autumn Fairytale," is so sad and sweet, but to tell you the truth, I like the rich guy better than the first love. (I happen to feel sorry for people that have to give up their love. Such as Nuriko, Amiboshi, Yuuhi (Yuu Watase's characters.) and even in Syaoran's case, he almost lost his love... and I'm so glad that things work out for them. I feel sorry for Meirin, though.) Anyway, one thing I thought was really touching was, the rich guy once said when they found out the girl had leukemia, "You have to live. Please, you've got to try your best to live, for me, please?" His eyes and voice are so sincere. Then he says ruefully, "Which is ironic because you don't even love me." That was so sad, sniff, sniff. I could just imagine Syaoran begging Sakura to try her best and never give in to the battle, knowing that she loved Yukito. Or when she was crying in her arms from being rejected from Yukito, he reassured her that she will someday find her true love, not saying that it's himself. Sniff. Sniff. The ocean and autumn were major themes in "An Autumn Fairytale," so you might have noticed I included pictures with the ocean (sniff... I split them apart) and autumn... okay. I'll stop now. Now, you (hopefully) understand the meaning of the song...
